CaringBridge® Connects Loved Ones and Expands Your Support Network
Patients and families going through a serious health event can be overwhelmed by medical terminology, treatment decisions and hospital visits. In times like these, support from extended family and friends can be essential. Confronted with treatment plans that often involve complex medical terminology, families are also burdened with updating concerned family members and friends, a process that can be exhausting.
Now, there is an easier way. Cancer Support Community of Greater St. Louis has partnered with CaringBridge, a charitable nonprofit organization that offers free, private websites that connect family and friends to share information, love and support during a serious health event, care and recovery. Cancer Support Community participants--cancer patients, caregivers, and loved ones can use a CaringBridge website to centralize communication and easily update everyone.
A CaringBridge site also helps people who are facing a health journey build therapeutic connections with their support networks, allowing family and friends to send messages of hope and encouragement through the online guestbook. Many authors of CaringBridge sites say the overwhelming compassion they receive through the guestbook helps them experience emotional healing and improved quality of life.
Founded in 1997, more than 200,000 CaringBridge websites have been created, generating more than half-a-million daily visits. The CaringBridge community includes authors, visitors and donors in all 50 states and more than 225 countries and territories.
